Emirates: Cabin Crew Interview Story
Emirates Airlines conducts an interview sometimes with specific language requirements. They were conducting an interview in Kolkata and was selecting mostly Bengali Language speakers. Frankfinn Airhostess Institute is responsible to do the pre-screening test on behalf of Emirates airlines in India. So I wrote an e-mail to the institute and expressed my interest to attend the screening test for the interview. Then I had to wait for their response. Most International airlines do not allow candidates to attend the interview sessions until you have an Invitation Mail/Letter by the company. It is the most Mandatory requirement.
To understand the specific requirements of the airline
you are applying for, you must go to the website of the company and read them yourself
in the career section. Again, most airlines (International & Domestic) require you to register yourself on their career website portal. Even though
Frankfinn does the pre-screening, I was still required to register on the
Emirates career page.
After I received the invitation, I had to call in sick to
attend the interview. It was a bit too late to apply for leave. I knew that if I
got selected, then I might need 2-3 days to complete the interview sessions.
Like every other interview, the first day was self-introduction
round, then I got selected and was called for the next rounds on the next day. The second day was Group Discussion round and English test. Then, I was called in for
the final round on the third day. I was given a specific time to attend the session
and it was the most important round, as this was a one-on-one session. I was
asked questions were like:
- -
What do you like about this job?
- -
Tell me about a situation when you had a disagreement
with your senior colleague at work.
- -
How did you handle the situation?
- -
Tell about a situation when you did something
different/out of the way for a customer to make him/her happy.
- -
Talk about a moment when you felt disappointed
in your job role.
This round took almost 1 hour. After the interaction
session, I was told that if I get selected I will get a call and I will be informed
about what steps to take further for the joining process. After a long wait of
almost one and a half months, I received The Golden Call. That’s what they call it,
which gave me all the duties I had to do to continue with the joining process
and procedures.
That’s all for today. I will come back with more writing soon
again. Thank you.
