SpiceJet: Cabin Crew Interview Story
I wanted to start working as early as possible, hopefully soon
after my college completes. That is why I got myself engaged in the part-time Air-Hostess Academy classes, to help myself ready for any job. Soon I finished my part-time
classes, I started attending interviews for Airlines as well as Hotels. Just
want to make something clear, that I wanted to start working for myself so that
I can take responsibility. My family always supported me in every way to help
me achieve what I want from life.
After a couple of interviews, one fine day I got a message
from my institute to be present at a certain hotel where SpiceJet Airlines
interview was going on. I got ready and reached the location by 10am. After a long wait, my turn came. I was invited to a room, where there were many other
candidates as well. We were a total of 10 candidates. 1st round was an Extempore
round where we had to talk about – “My favorite TV personality and Why?” By the
time my turn came, most people already spoke about maximum people about whom I was
actually thinking to speak about. I spoke about Mr. Raju Shrivastav, who was a
struggling Comedian of that time. I spoke for almost 90 seconds-2 minutes. Then
I moved to the second round, which was self-introduction round.
Then was the grooming check round, and finally was a
conversation round with three HR Management, where I was asked commonly asked
question – Why do you want to become a cabin crew? Where do you see yourself 5
years from now? What are your Strengths? Why should we hire you? How do you react
to someone who is angry with you? Do you have any questions for us? And a few
more.
At the end of the interview day, I was told that I will
get a call/e-mail if my profile gets selected. This is a very common answer
given my interviewer, and you should not get too disappointed. As there is a
50-50 chance of yes as well as no. So Please people do not lose hope. I got a
call from the SpiceJet HR Team after almost 2 months. I was given information about where
to go for my aviation pre-medicals, and once I clear the medicals I will receive
another call which will inform me about my joining formalities. I gave my
Interview in sometime in August 2007 and my joining date was 3rd of
January 2008. Long wait, but at last, I got painted in flying colors.
That’s all today, will come back soon with more writing.
Thank You.
