Introducing myself and Cabin Crew Interview
Hi everyone. Welcome to my blog.
My name is Priyanka. I have been a Cabin Crew(Flight Attendant) for more than a decade. I started my Flying career with SpiceJet Airlines, then moved on to Jet Airways, and lastly was associated with Emirates Airlines. Currently, I am working for a Private Institute where I provide Training on Aviation and Personality Development topics. I am here to help you all to prepare yourself to become a Cabin crew. I will discuss all the requirements of the job, Domestic as well as for international airlines. I will share details about the questions asked during Cabin Crew Interviews and how to answer them as well.
To begin with, to be eligible to apply as Cabin Crew, candidates should be minimum 158-160 cms which is 5 feet 2 inches. And you should have a high-school/+2 pass certificate for a Recognized board. Your age has to be minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 27 to apply as a Trainee Cabin Crew. Most Indian based airlines want unmarried candidates if you are a fresher.
International Airlines interviews they will require you to do a reach test of 212 cms, where you can reach that by tip-toe or standing straight without your shoes. Graduate candidates are mostly preferred by most of the airlines, with any background(arts, commerce, science) and any board. You need to be a minimum of 21 years of age to be eligible to for apply International Airlines.
The question you will be required to answer first is "Tell me something about yourself". I know it is a very common question, and most of you should be aware of it. Most candidates do not get a chance to get selected because they do not answer this question desirably, and some lack confidence in answering the same.
You have to prepare yourself to speak clearly, and make good eye contact while answering. If you are sitting in a group or if there is more than one person in the interview panel you have to make sure to look at everyone sitting all around you while talking. Always remember, Confidence is the key to win the Interview. The most important requirement in any interview is to answer every question confidently. Even if you are tensed, stressed, or scared from inside you still have to Act and look Confident when you present yourself in an interview. Remember, it is not necessary to speak amazing English and also no need to be conscious if you have an accent in your speech delivery but it is very important to speak with confidence.
Know your resume/CV very well. If you are a fresher, there are chances that you might be asked most questions from your CV itself. Your hobbies, interests, extra curriculum tasks, and any other courses. Experienced candidates will be mostly asked to explain how and what is your job all about. Answer all the questions asked in a way that you enjoy all of them, your job, interests, etc. And don't forget to Smile, which again, most candidates fail to do. A good way to improve your confidence and speaking style is to talk in front of a full-size mirror, practice will make you perfect.
Various Domestic airlines and all International airlines conduct an English Test, as part of their Interview round. So not only verbal you have to be good in written English as well.
There are few companies who conduct a Group Discussion Round and some conduct an Extempore Round. Group Discussion round is conducted to check how good you are in speaking up in a crowd, how you work in a Team, and how quick you can process any topic and speak about it. Again, this round can make some people conscious and nervous. Take your time, if you are asked to speak first please excuse yourself and ask if you can speak in second or third position. This is an option, can be practiced, but then again it is always a better option to Practice Topic Speaking and give your best performance at the Interview. You can search and find all sorts of topics discussed in an interview on Google, and start practicing.
By saying this, I will end this writing here today. I will be back soon with more tips about Cabin Crew. Thank you for reading.
